There’s a lot more to moving abroad than mere gathering of visa application paperwork.
In the years since founding Family Move Abroad, Jackie’s come to learn, she and her husband weren’t as crazy as they thought they were for wanting to move to a city they’d never visited in a foreign country where they knew absolutely no one, with no idea of where to live, how to find housing, what to do for their kids’ education, or even what questions to ask about the million other things they weren’t yet aware.
Jackie’s Relocation Coaching service supports expats in the making to understand and address these more qualitative aspects of your move to Spain. This service is particularly useful for parents moving abroad with children, or those of any age who lack the personal contacts in Spain to get the local support or find the resources you need to make your move a success.
Typical areas of support include:
- Deciding where to live in Spain — Aligning your lifestyle, language, personal needs and other goals with the best location Spain has to offer
- Finding housing — Tips and tricks to navigate DIY resources as well as personalized introductions to vetted local relocation agents for an all in one resource
- Making the best education decisions for children in Spain — Public or private? What’s a concertado? Full Spanish immersion, stick to English or somewhere in between?
- Customized school searches by region and city
- Finding soccer (ahem, fútbol) clubs or other sports teams and extracurricular activities for kids
- Considerations and resources to support children with special needs
- Helping prepare children for their move before you depart, and helping them adapt after they get here
- Guidance to support your domestic life for your move abroad — from preparing your home for rental to managing mail to just about every logistical consideration you can think of!

Who We Help
We help individuals, couples, retirees and famlies moving to Spain with children.
Our hand held guidance to help gather visa application paperwork is specialized to US citizens applying for their visas at Spanish consulates in the US. We have intimate knowledge of the third party resources — such as FBI background checks and federal Apostille acquisition providers — for documents issued from within the 50 states.
However, visa requirements are fairly consistent regardless of where you must apply for your visa. We might not have the tips and tricks to help you fast track a criminal background check but we’ll be able to review your paperwork, fill out application forms, and address general questions.
